Vattenfallis the largest producer of wind power in Denmark with a total power generation in 2015 of 1,015 GWh. Vattenfall has 2.2 GW of wind energy installed onshore and offshore, all in Europe.

The motivation for Vattenfall to be partner in EROSION is to find novel solutions to limit blade erosion. Blade erosion cause high cost for O&M at offshore wind farms. Vattenfall will provide access to wind farms for novel measurements and testing on rain drop size and erosion of blades. The erosion risk register from one or more wind farms from Vattenfall will be shared internally, to contribute to defining rain erosion classes. Vattenfall will benefit from the outcomes of EROSION in aspects ranging from reducing the cost of energy to optimizing maintenance activities.
