RWE Renewables ranks among the largest global players in power generation from renewable energies with a total installed generation capacity of 9 gigawatts and an additional 2.6 gigawatts under construction. Their technology portfolio covers onshore and offshore wind, utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) solar power and energy storage. Their 3,600 renewables experts develop, build and operate large renewable energy assets in 15 countries in Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific.
RWE Renewables’ goal is to rapidly expand the use of renewables energies with technologies that address the growing concern about energy security, energy affordability, and climate change.
RWE Renewables’ interest in blade erosion is to reduce O&M costs. The blade erosion is a very serious problem and fast solutions are much in need according to RWE Renewables. RWE Renewables therefore joins EROSION to collectively find novel solutions. RWE Renewables is highly motivated to share necessary information from relevant wind farms, to engage in analysis, planning of activities in the project and provide physical access to turbines for rain drop size measurements. RWE Renewables will compile erosion data at selected wind farms and wind turbines in diverse climates to give basis for the erosion class definitions. RWE Renewables will involve in formulation of the business potential of the EROSION innovation results and values together with other partners.
