Aim
To demonstrate the ‘erosion safe mode’ control for increased leading edge lifetime and to demonstrate business case on cost reduction.
Method
The ‘erosion safe mode’ control will be tested at one large wind turbine for one year based on input from WP3. An aeroelastic model will be used to analyse the rotor speed reduction needed or pitch change and coupled to a model that can predict the income depending on the electricity price.
The business case on cost reduction aimed for wind industry and the societal perspectives will be simulated based on an aeroelastic model of a wind turbine running through a Design Load Basis with input of rain events (WP1) and blade erosion (WP2).
