Recently two PARSIVEL-2 disdrometers were installed at the DTU campus in Risø. These sensors will measure the type, size and velocity of precipitation particles to get typical size-velocity distributions of different weather conditions. This information is important for a better understanding and modelling of erosion processes at leading edges of wind turbine blades.
One sensor is installed near the tall mast and the other one near the turbines at Risø. Both sensors benefit from their location close to other sensors such that additional parameters are observed and are available for detailed investigations.
