DTU Wind Energy (Technical University of Denmark, Department of Wind Energy) is the world’s largest public research institute for wind energy. DTU is  internationally recognized as being in the forefront of wind energy technology worldwide and in the Danish wind energy research.

The motivation for DTU to engage in EROSION as coordinator is based on DTU’s strong tradition in coordinating large joint research-industry projects in wind energy. DTU has interest in research questions on wind turbine blade materials testing, development of novel measurement devices, control systems and meteorological site conditions.

DTU will contribute to solve from scientific excellence the challenging issues faced in the EROSION project. DTU’s research level and technical insights will increase from collaboration in the project. The added value for DTU is to enable applied results for the benefit of the industrial partners. By improving Danish wind industry DTU will contribute in the best interest for society which is DTU’s key mission.
