The WS100 is a small Doppler radar measuring the size and velocity of hydrometeors.

Two WS100 Doppler radars have been installed at DTU Risø Campus. They measure the size and velocity of hydrometeors.

These measurements are used to estimate the amount and intensity of an event as well as the precipitation type. To test the practicability and accuracy of these small radars compared to PARSIVEL-2 disdrometers, they were installed next to the disdrometers at DTU Risø campus. After a dry summer, the current rain events give us now the possibility to compare the measurements of both sensors in detail.
